From The Desk of Dr. Richard N. Ledford II
I would like to thank all of the CHC members who assisted us this past Sunday by parking at the Tallahassee Mall parking lot. Whether you realize it or not this is ministry in action. Ministry is defined as: The act of giving help, care, or service to another. So many times in today’s world we only think of ministry as preaching or praying, nothing could be farther from the truth. In the early church the first ministers to be mentioned in the bible in the book of Acts were serving food to the needy in the church, they were held in high esteem and were proud to fulfill their ministry duties. In order for our church to continue growing and reach out to the lost in our city we must make room for them to park and feel like there is room for them at our church. Parking off site to help with this is as much a ministry as counseling, praying or preaching.
This summer we are going to have a great time of fun and blessing here at Christian Heritage. Our summer camps start next Monday for our youth and I will be preaching the opening night for our young men and women. Please pray with me that our youth will have an outpouring of the Holy Spirit during this camp.
Proverbs brings us the most astounding wisdom, this morning a I was reading and came across a powerful scripture, Proverbs 25:21-22; If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you. This has to be one of the most disciplined passages of scripture in all of the word of God. I know that each and every one of us has someone in our lives that has taken a position that we can consider them to be our enemy. In the flesh we have the desire to hurt them as much as they have hurt us, remember our flesh is still being renewed on a daily basis. God tells us that the answer is not to punish them but to bless them. I know this may not be what you desire to hear today but this will bring you great freedom if acted upon. Find some way this week to bless someone who is opposing you. Maybe a kind word or deed, find some way to turn their curse into a blessing in your life. Notice that the last line of this passage is “And the Lord will reward you.” It is easy to bless those we like or enjoy. It is another matter altogether to bless someone who seems to gain joy from making our life hard. Know that when you sow the seeds of blessing it brings the greatest harvest when planted in fertile soil! What better soil than someone who is against you and not for you? Change your attitude toward them and see them as an opportunity to have God do something wonderful on your behalf. You may even find yourself thanking God for allowing them into your life!
Keep the faith and know that you are loved. Andrea and I will be praying for you this week. I hope to see you Wednesday night as I continue in the series “money Matters”. Be blessed!

THE ATMOSPHERE IS CHANGING May 18, 2006Posted by chcblog in Uncategorized.
Everyone here is at full speed preparing for tomorrow night's recording of our live CD project. This has been a long patient wait of over 15 years to see this promise God gave to me and Andrea come to pass. This is not just a concert or performance but this is a fulfillment of the vision God has given us for the ministry. I believe that the "sound" of our church is not just for us to be blessed by but for the body of Christ to be set free and healed by the anointing that resides on our church. I hope and pray to see you here with us tomorrow night to share with us the fulfillment of the visoin. have a blessed day and see you tomorrow.
It’s Wednesday May 17, 2006Posted by chcblog in Uncategorized.
I can hardly believe that it is Wednesday already. We have been in preparation for the live CD recording this Friday night as well as taking care of daily business around here. I know you probably never think about it but it is always busy at the church. you may only need something every once in a while but when you multiply that by several thousand it gets very busy on our end. Today was actually pretty calm. I got to the office at 7:55 and checked up on about 40 e-mails that arrived overnight, dressed and left by 8:50 for Cayden's talent show at school. Back in the office at 10:00 to get ready for our 10:30 Staff meeting, ran Cody his lunch at 12:00, went into meetings from 1:00 until 3:00, and I am writing this before my next meeting at 3:30. In the down time I have returned about 15 calls that have come in during the day. Nothing exciting just a normal day at CHC. Don't think for a minute I am complaining, this is really an easy day! The hard ones are when I have to deal with several crisis' on top of keeping my schedule that Niki has prepared. Oh well I just thought I would give you a blog in my spare time and by the way Andrea and I prayed for each one of you today so know that this is going to be a great day! Be blessed.
